About G. Douglas Stephens

Mr. Stephens was born in Peoria in 1951 and raised on Peoria’s North Side. He graduated from Spalding Institute in 1969, and worked his way through college and law school as a construction laborer, working out of Peoria Laborer’s Local 165.

Mr. Stephens earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University. After a distinguished law school academic career which included study at the prestigious Oxford University in England, and twice representing his law school in National Moot Court competitions in New York, Mr. Stephens graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1977.

In January 1980, Mr. Stephens founded what is now Stephens Fiddes McGill and Associates, P.C., a law firm which has grown to four attorneys and 10 support staff. Since that time, Stephens Fiddes McGill and Associates, P.C. has been recognized five times as a winner of the People’s Choice Award recognizing the firm as one of the top 3 law firms in all of central Illinois, and, Mr. Stephens has been recognized as one of the 10 best Personal Injury Attorneys in Illinois for client satisfaction.
