In the spring of 2020, Gordon M. Fiddes retired from law. Before retiring, Mr. Fiddes practiced law for thirty-one plus years, concentrating in the handling of petitioner’s (injured employees) workers’ compensation claims. He represented thousands of injured workers throughout Central Illinois. Mr. Fiddes appeared at all levels of the state judicial system, from countless arbitrations to arguing before the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts. He obtained millions of dollars in settlements and awards for his clients through the years.
Mr. Fiddes is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois State Bar Associations, including membership in the Workers’ Compensation Section. Among his numerous clients are the working men and women affiliated with local Labor Unions and Labor Organizations throughout Central Illinois. Chief among them, UAW Local 974, Independent Steel Workers’ Alliance, United Food and Commercial Workers, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and many more.
Mr. Fiddes was raised in Peoria, Illinois, the second oldest of nine children. He attended local schools, graduating from Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute in 1978. He went on to Illinois State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1982. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, graduating in 1986. He joined the firm later that year.
